THE REVOLVING TEMPLE, part 4

When last we left …

After recovering from the fight in Port Nevermore, the heroes took a well earned rest then made their plans the next morning. Thanks to the Collector and his data, they had two locations on the trail of the Crimson Knights: the ancient ruins to the south, and the Bendu Temple in the canyon called the Needle Forest. They chose the Bendu Temple, thinking that they could ask the inhabitants what the Crimson Knights wanted to know.

They arrived at the temple and found it under attack! A mysterious alien craft, the size of a Corellian Cruiser, hovered low over the temple complex. Armored troops were attacking the temple guards, driving them back towards the main temple.

Wasting no time, the heroes joined the fight and made their way to the Bendu Temple itself. There, they met with Belshanna the Bendu priestess. From her, they learned the troops belonged to the same mysterious being called Sargon mentioned by the Collector. They also learned the Crimson Knights were asking about a map and the ruins to the south. Then, the heroes learned about the Kwi Map when the map permitted a copy to be given over to the heroes.

Outside, the battle grew intense as the cybernetic-enhanced Krayt Dragon – that had turned against Sargon’s troops – had attacked the woman in the black armor. Sargon’s forces renewed their assault, intent on taking the temple and what secrets it holds!

THE REVOLVING TEMPLE, part 3

When last we left …

The COLLECTOR explained about their common enemy. A being called SARGON. A self-proclaimed emperor in the Unknown Territories of the galaxy. But the truth was hard to take, given the number of bounty hunters that attacked our heroes. Some even sent by the Collector himself.

But before the Collector could explain more, sirens blared out as Port Nevermore was under attack! It was Reavers! The power to the port town died along with its automated defenses! While most of the group ran out to push back the Reavers, So’zen remained behind. Sensing something was wrong, he stayed in the Collector’s menagerie, anticipating a trap.

He was not wrong. Minutes after the assault on Port Nevermore began, Nogri Death Commandos stormed the Collector’s warehouse and began searching through the collection. Using the Force, So’zen determined the Nogri were after a certain set of data chips. He raced to the chip storage vault just in time to prevent a group of spider bots from destroying the data!

Outside the battle against the Reavers was dire. Outnumbered, the heroes bolstered the town’s defenses against an army of Reavers. Until the source of the Reavers was found. Outside the walls, a strange device was generating replicants of Reavers! The heroes moved to get at the device but that was when Nogri outside the warehouse launched their surprise attack. After a hard fight, the Nogri were defeated and the bizarre device that grew Reavers had been shut down.

As Port Nevermore settles back into a quiet night and repair crews work to restore power, defenses and the main gates, the heroes settle in for an evening rest in their ship …

Six Shot’s the Charm

Part VI

After striking a shaky alliance with the pirates of the DIAMONDBACK, our heroes raced into action. One group, backed by Captain Ada Pinnock and the crew of the Diamondback, confronted the Spartan Imperium light cruiser, IMPERIOUS. Meanwhile a second shuttle headed for long sought wreck of the WESTLAKE.

Any attempts to bargain or distract the Spartans failed and the battle exploded to life. Meanwhile, Rushlight – using every trick the shuttle ‘Vader’ had – managed to tow the Westlake away from its entrapment in the gravity well of the ruined moon.

In the end, the heroes won the day with their pirate allies. Defeating the Spartan Imperium ships – and causing the implosion of a Spartan interdictor cruiser – they turned their attention to repairs and the goal of destroying the Westlake.

But there is more to the Westlake than a dead ship with mysterious secrets. Speaking with the Wind, Rushlight determined there was life aboard. Five ARC troopers, considered lost since the fall of Kamino, lay in stasis deep inside the Westlake. But so does a gigantic swarm of hyper-intelligent mynocks. A swarm larger than has ever been recorded before.

Now, our heroes are set on rescuing the lost troopers before they destroy the Westlake and its treasure trove of mysterious secrets. Once they determine a way aboard and then past the mynock swarm!

Part II

When last we left …

Our heroes arrived in the CHALCEDON SYSTEM right in the face of a REAVER assault. Fighting them off, the Kilo’s Star and the Razorback make their way to PORT NEVERMORE on the outlaw world of CHALCEDON itself.

Planetside, they separate, looking to learn more about the Port and its inhabitants. In particular about the Bounty Hunter clan that brought them there, information on the outlaw tech Silar Mins, the Collector, and the strange rumors about missing people in the desert. People that are found later with no memory of what happened.

With more pieces than puzzle in front of them, they accept the invitation to meet at last with the mysterious COLLECTOR. Tucked away in a corner of Port Nevermore, the heroes pass through some of the Collector’s items. Then, at last they meet the being himself. Who suggests they have much to discuss.

Now, in a simple sitting room, the Collector begins his explanation by telling them they have a common enemy, one who is in the Unexplored Territories and goes by the name Emperor Sargon …

Part V

When last we left, our heroes had found what they were looking for and bonus trouble to spare!

After giving the Spartan Imperium the slip and Rushlight slipping the alien parasite from his spine, they set to work disinfecting the survivors of the Malamadre.

The survivors lived but their parasites didn’t. Except for the one recovered from Rushlight. To their surprise – and Rushlight’s irritation – the parasites turned out to be sentient. The ones aboard the Malamadre were in fact part of a group that were on the run from the Spartan Imperium. It names a hidden lab on a Tombworld in the Estaph system as home.

Meanwhile, Rushlight finds a hidden capsule embedded in the Malamadre captain’s skin. The capsule contained a data chip filled with an unusual set of numbers. These turned out to be sensor frequencies allowing the crew to locate a set of empty cryo pods. Pods that were from the Westlake.

Putting those together, the crew discovers a set of coordinates deep within the asteroid remains of a shattered moon called the “Sithhound Trail”. A favorite of death-defying asteroid prospectors everywhere. At least, for those that live to tell the tale.

Using shuttles, the crew scans the zone from both sides until they track down the signal of a derelict ship. They try a few signals and get a response. The Westlake is in there! Dodging asteroids, they head in, only to find another derelict waiting for them.

Moving close, they dock with the derelict only to discover they aren’t alone. There are pirates aboard and they aren’t looking to have company! A brief fight in the hangar puts an end to the pirates … until a comms message asks the crew to wait while the pirate captain – Ada Pinnock – ‘printed’ herself a new body!

Part IV

When last we left, our heroes juggled two problems at once, only to find a new one!

Dizzy and Iwa on boarding the Malamadre, find its crew in bad shape. Some are willing to talk, most are willing to shoot first and ask questions later. The fight is intense, but brief. When done, they get the sense something was off about the situation.

Giving the slip to the unusual amount of company flying in system, Greelo and Rushlight make it to the Malamadre in time to help Dizzy and Iwa check the ship out. During their search, they find that the captain of the Malamadre may be addled, but had a map that might indicate the location of the mysterious Westlake. But, this is suspicious since he may have been getting this information from a Sith Holocron and a parasite that was attached to his brain.

On leaving, more of the parasites appeared using mynocks as their hosts. Running for their lives, they return to the shuttles. Escaping the Malamadre they leave the infected mynocks and the derelict ship for the Spartan Imperium. In return, the Spartans respond by destroying the ship without even boarding it. Then, they began searching for Dizzy, Rushlight, Iwa and Greelo.

But our heroes manage to return to the Banana Republic and hide in a natural magnetic-ionization disturbance between the gas giant and one of its closer moons.

As the Spartans leave, our heroes decide that whatever prize the Westlake has is not worth anyone finding. That ship must be destroyed. But first, Rushlight has to survive surgery … as he was infected by a parasite from the Malamadre during their escape.

Part III

When last we left, our heroes had followed the trail to Dixon’s Star, a known hive of scum and villainy. On arriving, they break out the shuttles and begin to search. They find a hotbed of activity given that travel to this system is deadly at best.

First, there was the mysterious man by the name of Shan Holt. Always at their heels, Holt is after the Malamadre, and its commander, Walter Rosina. The same Rosina that our heroes are hunting for.

Second, would be the mysterious “repo agent” working for the criminal mastermind, Adelai Niska. He seems reasonable enough, and quite taken with Rushlight’s ‘field experience’ with ‘medical tools’.

Third, would be the brief encounter with a military starship from someplace called the Spartan Imperium. Stern, direct, they were a jump away. What were they doing so far into pirate space?

Last would be the Malamadre herself. Bleeding power, life support low, she’s a flying death trap. By the communications, there are crew aboard, and one Walter Rusina. Now, with everything gunning for Rosina and the Malamadre, it may be time to make some hard decisions with regards to completing this job for Eli Sandutsa …

Another piece to the puzzle

Episode303_part_4.jpg

When last we left, our heroes had separated to tackle three problems at once.

With the rare Force Tree recovered from the thieves – and the police impound yard – Danar, Tibit, and Mace Windu delivered it to the hidden enclave of the Vratix religious leaders. There, they help secure the tree in a hidden location deep in the jungles of Thyferra, away from prying eyes.

Meanwhile, back in Xucphra city, Vanya and Davish visit Fenrisal at Sunrise Memorial Hospital. But, before they can question him, he is poisoned by another assassination attempt! Chasing the assassin leads to an invasion of the hospital by a squad of well-armed commandos who seem to possess miraculous regenerative abilities! With the help of a local police officer, Sergeant Tarkin Montoya, they manage to get Fenrisal to safety and lose the commandos.

During the hospital invasion, N-8, So’zen and Aerena attempt to liberate the Vratix workers. Under the guise of a ‘documentary film crew’, they gain access to the factory. There, they discover the workers are all collared with what may be explosives! Not only that, they are attacked by a squad of what look to be Galactic Imperial scout troopers wearing a mysterious emblem on their armor! Caught by surprise, the heroes make a fast exit. So’zen and Aerena out through the front door, N-8 out a hidden side door with help from a mysterious Halud ally.

Now that they’ve regrouped, they have changed tactics. This time Vanya, Danar, and Davish will take on the factory and its mysterious scout trooper unit. So’zen and Aerena are tracking down the smuggler, Prix, to draft into helping them with his network of informants. Then last, N-8 will help Sgt. Montoya get Fenrisal to a safe location so the local police can decide what to do with him.
